Dr. Khan pursued advanced training in the United States, where he completed his Master of Surgery (MS) degree. He achieved the distinction of becoming the first board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Pakistan, a testament to his expertise and dedication to his field.
From July 4, 1956, to September 13, 1965, Dr. Khan served as the head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Hospital, Lahore. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the construction of the Outpatient Department (OPD) block at Mayo Hospital. This block, where the Department of Orthopedic Surgery is currently located, stands as a testament to his vision and dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure.
With credentials that included Membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (MRCS), Dr. Khan introduced and developed modern orthopedic techniques and treatments at Mayo Hospital. He was also known for his dedication to medical education, mentoring many young doctors and surgeons who went on to have successful careers.

Dr. Khan is also the grandfather of Dr. Mumraiz Salik Naqshband, an accomplished orthopedic surgeon.
